For furriers and fur sellers

Where to sell mink coats online, now that the general marketplaces won't list them

Mink is exactly what the big platforms have been dropping

Real mink has quietly disappeared from one general marketplace after another. ASOS banned real fur across its marketplace in 2017. Depop prohibited real-fur listings in 2019. Meta excludes fur from its Shops and from paid advertising entirely. And from 11 August 2026, Etsy delists real fur — mink, fox and rabbit are among the named categories. Each policy change removes another venue from the list of places a furrier can actually sell mink, without replacing it with anything.

What to look for in a new place to sell mink

If you made or sold mink coats on a platform that has since excluded fur, the question is not just "where else" but what the next place should actually offer. A handful of things matter more than traffic numbers:

  • Species named accurately. A serious fur marketplace names mink as mink — not a vague euphemism or an unlabelled product photo.
  • Verification, not a free-for-all. Buyers of a mink coat want to know the seller is a real, checked business, not an anonymous listing.
  • Fur as the point, not a rounding error. On a generalist marketplace, fur is a small category that can be cut with a single policy update. A marketplace built specifically around fur has no such incentive.
  • A way to bring your existing catalogue. Years of product photography and descriptions are worth carrying over, not rewriting from scratch.

Save your existing listing data first

Before you do anything else, export what you already have. Etsy's own CSV export only includes listings that are currently active — once a mink listing is delisted, it drops out of that export too. Our step-by-step export guide covers exactly how, in about ten minutes, including what the CSV does and doesn't contain.

About Ermelle

Ermelle is a planned, specialised marketplace for real fur, built for Europe's furriers and fur ateliers. We are pre-launch: right now you can reserve a place in the founding-furrier cohort — free to list, with one clearly disclosed commission only when a piece sells; the exact terms will be finalised with our payment partner and shared with the founding cohort first. There is real, card-paying demand for quality mink and other fur — including established houses in the Gulf.
